After the game, the 21-year-old Edwards was caught on video picking up and swinging a chair on his way to the locker room.
“Anthony Edwards was cited for 3rd Degree Assault after the game Tuesday night,” Denver police confirmed to The Post. “It was reported to Denver Police that while Edwards was walking from the court to the locker room at the conclusion of the game, he swung a folding chair and struck two women who were working at the time. Both women were injured, and at the time it was reported that the injuries were not serious.
Edwards has a court date in June and could face up to 18 months in prison if convicted of the charge. Edwards was the first-overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and just finished his third season with the Timberwolves. Via the video that was included in this report, looks like the contact was unintentional from Edwards — picking up a chair and tossing it to the floor while running to the tunnel.
