Updated information from the Coronado National Forest Service indicates the location of the Tinaja Wildfire is south of Ruby Road.Coronado National Forest says as of Tuesday morning, the Tinaja Wildfire is burning approximately 328 acres, burning south of Ruby Road and west of Sycamore Canyon.In addition to the forest service and local fire crews, two helicopters are assigned to work the fire.
Forest Service officials ask that people avoid the area and caution that drivers will likely see increased traffic in surrounding areas.The wildfire burning in Santa Cruz County, Ariz., named the Tinaja Wildfire, has reached about 215 acres, according to the Nogales Ranger District.Spokespeople from the ranger district say the burn area, south of Ruby Road and west of Sycamore Canyon—hilly terrain consisting of grasses, juniper and mesquite—experienced heavy wildfire activity in 2022.
Crews are making progress as they work to contain the fire, according to the ranger district, and air tankers will be assisting in the effort.A wildfire burning near in Santa Cruz County, Ariz. since Sunday has reached about 100 acres, according to Tubac Fire District.Authorities have not been able to provide information on containment at this time.STAY IN TOUCH WITH US ANYTIME, ANYWHERE
