The MCTR began rolling out to taxpayers in October. As of Nov. 23, the Franchise Tax Board reported it has sent out $5,737,037,300.
The agency said it will distribute payments through mid-January, with those remaining delivered in the form of a debit card.—Direct deposits issued to qualifying taxpayers: 6,955,276Depending on a taxpayer’s adjusted gross income, payments will range from $200 for certain high-income earners to $1,050 for married, joint tax filers with a qualifying dependent., recipients of the MCTR must be California residents and tax filers in order to qualify.
Q: Should those who haven’t gotten an expected payment wait out the entire distribution cycle before beating down your door? If someone believes they qualify for a payment, and they have waited at least two weeks beyond the debit card issue date to allow for mailing time, they should call customer service at 800-542-9332 to discuss their situation.
