The Wordle answer Monday was controversial, until The New York Times switched it

My understanding is that this app is an entirely “static” app - it lives entirely in your browser and does not make service calls to get words.

This means that while the word list can be updated, it will be subject to browser caching. 1/xThe Times’ games section stated that it wanted to be a “a place to entertain and escape” and keep Wordle “distinct from the news.”
