San Diego (4-5, 3-3) excels in all facets to exact revenge on Wildcats with Re-Al Mitchell rushing for two TDs, including a 75-yarder, and Judd Erickson tossing two TDs

In the last home game of the season, on an afternoon when the University of San Diego honored 17 seniors, the Toreros turned in their most complete football game of the season Saturday afternoon.

USD led 24-7 at halftime, 31-7 after three quarters and when the defense made a fourth-quarter goal-line stand that staved off a Davidson rally, the win was all but complete.“By far, that’s the best we’ve played all year,” said head coach Dale Lindsey. “I’m really proud of them. That’s a real good team we went up against.”

Playing his fourth straight solid game, sixth-year quarterback Judd Erickson completed 22 of 30 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns. In the last four games Erickson has thrown for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns with no interceptions.Re-al Mitchell rushed for 127 yards on 12 carries and scored two TDs, one a 75-yarder. Playing as a wildcat quarterback, running back and wide receiver, Mitchell has added punch to the offense.Hunter Nichols anchored the defense with 12 tackles, 11 of them solo.
