in effect for the Tahoe Basin until 4 p.m. Monday. Another 1 to 5 inches of snow may fall in the region between Sunday and Monday, and winds may gust as high as 50 mph at lake level. Up in the mountains, the National Weather Service is“Travel could be very difficult to impossible at times,” the weather service’s Reno office warned Sunday. “Very strong winds could cause tree damage.”
“Avoid travel if possible, you could be stuck in your vehicle for many hours,” it added in the advisory. “If you must travel, prepare for long delays and carry an emergency kit with extra food, water and clothing. If you stay home, have a backup plan in case of power outages.”
