Nearly 1.2 million passengers are expected to pass through Denver International Airport over the long Memorial Day weekend, and the airport urges travelers to give themselves extra time to navigate the crowds.as passenger traffic has increased ahead of summer. At busy times, general screening lines at the south checkpoint, which is nearest to the hotel and transit center, have snaked around to DIA’s baggage claims.
DIA expects the busiest days to be Friday and Monday, each with roughly 210,000 passengers passing through DIA.The airport urges travelers to arrive at the terminal at least two hours prior to their flight’s boarding time — especially if they lack TSA Precheck or another expedited screening membership or status.
