Jordan, now 29 and an assistant coach with the New Orleans Saints, played at Gilmer through 2011 and was a quarterback at Texas A&M in 2014 and 2015. No matter what parents say to me now, I don’t take it personal. I just don’t. And I get told some terrible things to this day, but it’s their babies. I say the same thing all the time to every parent, I know they get tired of hearing it, but that’s their job. It's their job to love their child unconditionally. My job is to coach them. And when we get those two roles confused is when it gets messy, when I start trying to become the parent. My job is to assist them, not parent.
