Former President Donald Trump is not immune from prosecution in a case that charges him with plotting to overturn 2020 election, a U.S. appeals court said.

For the purpose of this criminal case, former President Trump has become citizen Trump, with all of the defenses of any other criminal defendant," according to a 57-page decision released on Tuesday. "But any executive immunity that may have protected him while he served as President no longer protects him against this prosecution."

A President of the United States must have Full Immunity in order to properly function and do what has to be done for the good of our Country," he wrote. "A Nation-destroying ruling like this cannot be allowed to stand. If not overturned, as it should be, this decision would terribly injure not only the Presidency, but the Life, Breath, and Success of our Country. A President will be afraid to act for fear of the opposite Party’s Vicious Retribution after leaving Office.

A District of Columbia federal grand jury previously indicted former Trump on the following four criminal counts based on his alleged attempts to change the outcome of the election:Conspiracy to obstruct an official proceedingConspiracy against the rights of one or more persons to vote and to have their votes counted
