Donald Trump responded to CNN's recent firing of its CEO, Chris Licht, as the former president rallied on the 2024 presidential campaign trail.
Trump seemingly took credit for the media group's decision, pointing to the town hall the network hosted for him last month. The occasionally combative New Hampshire town hall with moderator Kaitlan Collins led to 3.31 million total viewers tuning in to the network, according to Nielsen ratings. While Licht was fired on Wednesday, Trump issued his response during the North Carolina GOP convention on Saturday."It worked out well," Trump said of the town hall.
CNN received backlash for providing the now-indicted former president a platform. The network has since announced an upcoming town hall with former Vice President Mike Pence, who is facing off against Trump for the Republican nomination. Pence was also present at the same convention earlier Saturday.
