Memorial Villages residents turned out Thursday, Dec. 15, to enjoy the Twinkle Light Parade and snow at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.The Twinkle Light Parade made its way through West Houston on Thursday evening, entertaining young and old alike.
The parade wove its way through Memorial Villages along Taylorcrest to Piney Point Road and then south to Memorial Drive where a right turn took the parade to Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church at 11612 Memorial Drive for a holiday celebration including snow for all to enjoy. “Thank you to everyone who participated in or assisted in making this years Twinkle Light Parade a huge success,” Memorial Villages Police Chief Ray Schultz said in his weekly police report. “The parade went off without a hitch and everyone had a great time, enjoying the floats, caroling, hot chocolate and the snow. We saw several large groups of neighbors who had gathered along the route enjoying each other’s company.
“While visiting with residents last night at the parade I received a very interesting comment from a couple that has recently moved to the area,” he said. “They were telling me how much they enjoyed the parade and how special the parade was because the parade occurred right in the community. They stated that usually, you have to drive downtown or to a commercial area in order to see a parade.
