Two Littleton police officers were injured early Tuesday morning in vehicle crashes involving a suspected car thief who led officers on a chase.
The suspect fleeing in the Kia hit a marked patrol car near 191 E. Orchard Ave., police said. The fleeing driver kept going, heading west on West Littleton Boulevard. During a pursuit, an officer’s vehicle crashed into a retaining wall near 2707 W. Main St. No officers were seriously injured, and the pursuit was called off.
The suspect hit a curb at the intersection of South Santa Fe Drive and West Main Street. The Kia was inoperable, and the suspect fled on foot. Both officers were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released. An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on the incident, or on a possible suspect, is asked to call Detective Adam Alderson at 303-794-1551.
