Two people rescued from water off Sunset Cliffs [Breaking]
Two people were pulled from the ocean off Sunset Cliffs late Wednesday, authorities said.
Someone called 911 about 9 p.m. to report hearing screams for help coming from people about 300 yards off the coast, San Diego police said. A San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatcher said lifeguards were able to pluck both people from the water and take them to hospitals. A helicopter was called to the scene but it was not clear if it played a role in the rescue.
No further information was immediately available, including how the pair ended up in the water so far from shore.
