HERCULES — Two teens were arrested Monday after bringing guns to Hercules High and posting pictures on social media with them, police said.
One of the teens is 17, and the other is 15, according to police. Neither appeared poised to do harm, police said.the plan,” Hercules police Cmdr. Joseph Vasquez said. “On the surface, it just looks like two kids showing off with firearms at the school.” Police arrested the older teen Thursday night at his home after serving a search warrant, Vasquez said. The younger teen was arrested at the school after police found a bag containing a gun and a loaded high-capacity magazine.
Both teens were arrested on suspicion of possessing a gun on school grounds and possessing an unregistered gun, Vasquez said. The younger teen also is suspected of possessing a loaded high-capacity magazine, Vasquez said.Police were called to the campus at 1900 Refugio Road about 1:30 p.m. after receiving reports that two teens had posted to social media pictures of themselves holding guns on the campus, Vasquez said.
