A man in Britain pleaded guilty to stealing nearly 200,000 Cadbury Creme Eggs, in what police are calling an “eggs-travagent theft”
Police said the eggs, as well as other chocolate treats, were stolen on Saturday from a unit in an industrial area of Telford, England.
Shortly after the theft, the chocolates were found after officers stopped a vehicle, “presumably purporting to be the Easter bunny,” on the highway, police said in aJoby Pool, 32 years old, was arrested and charged with criminal damage and two counts of theft, police said. Mr. PoolA lawyer for Mr. Pool didn’t respond to a request for comment Wednesday.
Cadbury Creme Eggs, which are wrapped in a purple, yellow and red foil, start showing up on U.K. store shelves at the start of the year, ahead of Easter.
