Following an armed robbery of a United States Postal Service worker in Hinsdale on May 9, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect involved.

According to a news release, the letter carrier was at the intersection of West Hinsdale Avenue and South Stough Street at around 1:18 p.m. when confronted with the male suspect who later fled the area in a black 4-door sedan.The man was described as being 5 feet 10 inches tall with a “thin athletic build and a light brown complexion.”
The inspection service said the man was also wearing a black beanie, black neck gaiter mask, a red Chicago Bulls jersey with a black T-shirt, and black jeans.Spencer Block, public information officer for the Chicago Division Headquarters of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, said he urges people to contact the law enforcement hotline at 877-876-2455 with any insight into the Hinsdale robbery.
“We can thankfully report that the letter carrier was not injured,” Block said, adding that he was unable to provide more information surrounding the ongoing investigation. The hotline is open 24/7 and can also be utilized to report mail theft, mail fraud, or any other illicit activity involving the U.S. Mail or the U.S. Postal Service, Block added.
