Utah transportation officials and troopers are reminding drivers to slow down in work zones as they say there have been

Troopers have seen "more and more" drivers speed through work zones this year, which puts construction crews at "greater risk" because they are already working close to major roadways, Utah Highway Patrol Major Jeff Nigbur said Thursday. Utah Department of Transportation officials add that vehicles are found traveling at "excessive speeds" every night.

"Every time I see it, it just makes me sick to my stomach thinking what could have happened," he said. "Fortunately, we haven't had anyone injured, but it could easily turn disastrous." The agencies' message comes as I-15 is scheduled to close again for a short time this weekend with some impacts lingering into Monday.
