How Will Unfrosted Compare With Other Brand Biopics? Pop-Tarts Aren’t The First Product To Get The Movie Treatment The Jerry Seinfeld Pop-Tart movie might seem unique, but it is one of quite a few recent movies that have built biopics out of iconic brands. 2023 saw the release of Air, about Air Jordans, BlackBerry, about the titular mobile phone, Tetris, about the early video game, and Flamin’ Hot, about Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
It remains to be seen if Unfrosted can compete with this strong track record for critical and general audience appeal. So far, every movie has generally taken on its own tone. While Air and BlackBerry are more traditional dramas, Tetris played out like a thriller while Flamin' Hot took on more of a family comedy tone.
One point in the movie's favor is the fact that the Unfrosted cast is a huge boon. In addition to Seinfeld, the movie features Jim Gaffigan, Jack McBrayer, Amy Schumer, Christian Slater, James Marsden, Thomas Lennon, Bobby Moynihan, Max Greenfield, Bill Burr, Dan Levy, Hugh Grant, and Oscar nominees Maria Bakalova and Melissa McCarthy.
