The University of Maryland has lifted a ban on alcoholic events and socializing with new recruits at Greek institutions. However, further scrutiny is being placed on five groups and some individual members.

The University of Maryland has lifted a two-week ban on alcoholic events and socializing with new recruits at several dozen fraternities and sororities. However, five groups and some individual members are now facing further scrutiny.

The school plans to establish new reporting mechanisms for hazing and implement new policies to build a culture of integrity and accountability.
