University School is seeking its third state title in program history and first since 2009. They have reached the championship game for the sixth time after finishing as runners-up most recently as 2016.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — University School will play for the OHSAA hockey state title after cruising to a 4-0 win against Sylvania Northview in semifinal action Saturday at Nationwide Arena., turning away 33 Northview shots, and the Preppers got goals from Sam Wade and Anthony Messina in the second period to take a commanding lead. Samonte Martin added an unassisted score on a breakaway in the third, and Wade’s empty-net goal sealed the US victory.
