After Robert Kope disappeared while on a motorcycle ride, investigators found him dead near a fence off La Grange Road in La Grange, Calif.man found dead off the road west of Yosemite, a zip tie cinched tight around his neck. A girlfriend discovered lifeless in her home several years prior in the same way. Could two events be completely coincidental?
When she woke up the next morning and he still wasn’t home, however, she panicked. She contacted family members, called hospitals and rang up the police. The search wouldn’t last long — a man had just walked into a market in La Grange, a small community in Stanislaus County, to report seeing a man’s body on the side of the road. He claimed he didn’t have a phone, asked a store worker to call 911 and left.
A quarter-mile away, investigators found Kope’s motorcycle and, even farther down the road, his cellphone. It was switched off.
