It's named in honor of late firefighter Steve Preston. He and his wife committed financial support to build the new facility, which will help veterans who are in need of mental health services. "Peer mentoring is very important," said Marine Corps veteran Emil Anderson. "Part of the problem with most veterans is that they have struggle with communicating with other people. It's hard sometimes to come back to civilian life and talk to other civilians. When you come to the VOC, you're dealing with a lot of other veterans, and you have this brotherhood that lets them know that they're home.
