The University of Finlay alum has defied the odds to reach the NFL.
One of the great stories from Seattle Seahawks preseason was the retention of sixth-round rookie right tackle Michael Jerrell on the active roster. Taken with their eighth and final selection of the 2024 NFL Draft, Jerrell became just the fourth player ever to be drafted out of the University of Findlay, a private school in Findlay, Ohio. He was also the only player in the entire class to come from a Division II program.
“It’s a big step but obviously the work ain’t done,” he said. “I still got to keep climbing. Can’t ever get too high, never too low. I’ve got stay right on a steady plan and you know more work to be done.” The 25-year-old also credited veteran tackle George Fant for helping him throughout camp. “There was a rough start at the beginning, it was a little rough trying to get adjusted,” Jerrell said.
