OTTUMWA, Iowa — While speaking at a public event with Iowa state GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann, Vivek Ramaswamy invited a pro-choice heckler to speak. Staffers on the Republican presidential hopeful’s campaign began to turn away the heckler, a distraught woman in athletic wear, when she began screaming about Roe v. Wade and rape. But Ramaswamy welcomed her and asked her to speak.
“If someone nonconsensually rapes me, I’m not having their child,” the heckler said, wiping away tears. “It’s my choice; it’s my body. I’ve already raised my kids that somebody implanted in me and doesn’t take care of. The system does nothing for the single mother. There’s no child support, and nobody goes after them. I raised my child by myself.”I’m in Iowa right now with Vivek Ramaswamy who was just interrupted by a single mother who believes it’s her body and her choice.
