Josilyn Wadas, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter, is an encouraging influence for red-hot Mundelein, according to coach Calaeb Haire.

She has 63 kills after a nonconference win against Grayslake North on Tuesday.
“Even when things are not going our way, they make sure we keep looking at the bright side and making sure we keep fighting through any adversity,” Wadas said. “Josilyn works hard to be a better player and a better teammate,” he said. “She’s always playing club ball in the offseason, working hard in the gym or going to camps — anything to make herself the best she can be.”
Wadas spent most of the summer working on her fitness and speed in order to draw more interest from college programs.“Indiana State made contact with me a few times during club play, and once I got to know the coaches and see the campus, I fell in love,” she said. “I knew it was the place for me.”
