Volvo's 60- and 90-series plug-in hybrids receive a bigger battery and more powerful electric motor for the 2023 model year, which provide them with improved range and performance.
Volvo's 60- and 90-series plug-in hybrids rely on an internal-combustion engine to drive the front wheels and an electric motor to drive the rear pair. Similarly, the 2022 Volvo S60 T8 Recharge plug-in hybrid with the 11.6-kwh battery has an EPA-rated electric range of 22 miles, and this is estimated to grow to 41 miles with the 18.8-kwh battery.And with the new electric motor, peak power in the T8 Recharge grade rises to 455 hp. In other markets where a T6 Recharge grade is offered, output rises to 350 hp.
