The partnership between Wabtec and Roy Hill serves as a pioneering force in advancing both railway technology and social causes, marking a transformative milestone in the mining and rail industry.Electric trains like the FLXdrive are not only essential for reducing emissions but also contribute to energy efficiency.

In addition, the FLXdrive’s innovative energy management software allows for precise control and distribution of energy across the train, optimizing efficiency throughout the journey. The locomotive's unique battery thermal management system using liquid cooling ensures its operability even in extreme temperatures, such as the Pilbara region's scorching heat reaching up to 130°F .
