A new pro-Warren super PAC has launched in Nevada, despite Warren's condemnations of big money in politics
Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s campaign denounced big money’s growing role in the Democratic primary in a statement Wednesday — but stopped short of specifically calling for the shutdown of Persist PAC, a new pro-Warren super PAC, after the group popped up with a major ad campaign benefiting her.
in 2019 that she would shun in-person campaign fundraisers in order to separate herself from wealthy donors’ influence.But the Warren campaign’s Wednesday statement leaves open the possibility that one of the Democratic Party’s biggest crusaders against big money will have an ongoing big-money group spending on her behalf.
The PAC’s arrival comes at a precarious time for Warren’s 2020 campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination, after a third-place finish in Iowa and a fourth-place finish in New Hampshire earlier this month. The Warren campaign trimmed its TV advertising in South Carolina recently in order to bolster its ad buy in Nevada.
