Warriors’ Klay Thompson expected to play in first back-to-back in four years
LOS ANGELES — All signs point to Klay Thompson completing his first back-to-back set in almost four years Tuesday night.
Thompson was absent from the team’s injury report ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Clippers. That means, barring any unforeseen hiccups before the game, Thompson should be good to go for the Warriors’ final game before the All-Star break., coach Steve Kerr was hopeful that Thompson would be available for the second night of the back-to-back. Meanwhile, Thompson was a little more certain he’d play.
“Yes, I’m so excited,” he said. “Huge milestone, even more fun doing it in front of family. I spent so many great moments in that building with my dad and my brothers, my mother. So I was excited to get down there and play in front of them. It’s really a dream.” Thompson has been eager to get back to his normal regime since he made his highly anticipated return to the floor last January after back-to-back ACL and Achilles injuries sidelined him for more than two seasons. Even though he’s been healthy, Thompson has had to practice patience in his comeback journey as the team’s training staff has been careful to not let him go all-out too soon.
