Actress Amber Heard returned to the stand Tuesday as cross-examination from Johnny Depp's attorney resumed, who questioned her on various photographs she took to document the alleged abuse.
"I've never edited a photograph," Heard told the jury after being presented with photos that were supposed to have come from the same incident but featured different lighting.Between two photos of the actress's face following a reported fight with Depp, one has significantly more saturation, making the redness in her face appear brighter. Heard claimed the only difference in the photos was the lighting. She suggested that the vanity light was on in one photo but not the other.
Heard claimed in her testimony last week and in a written statement in April 2019 that Depp injured his finger by smashing a wall-mounted phone in Australia shortly after their honeymoon in 2015. Despite having taken photos of the mirror, Heard did not take photos of the smashed phone, and neither did anyone else at the scene. Thus, nothing was submitted into evidence.
"This is the knife that you gave to the man who would get drunk and violent with you, right?" Vasquez asked Heard. "I don't know if I'll ever be able to change," read a text from Heard to psychologist Dr. Connell Cowan.
