Ed Sheeran and current Rolling Stone UK cover stars Bring Me The Horizon have opened the BRIT Awards with an unlikely cover ofThe Sheffield band added a hard rock edge to Sheeran’s 2021 track, the first to be taken from his third album ‘=’.Delivering a new take on the chart-topping hit, both acts were backed by a selection of dancers – some of whom upped the ante by hanging from wires suspended from above the stage.
Sheeran delivered a faithful rendition of the track, while Sykes added his familiar screams to bring the pop track intoIt’s the first performance of the night from Sheeran, who is set to deliver his second performance later in the night. Other performers include Liam Gallagher, Adele, Sam Fender and Little Simz.
Reacting to the performance, one fan said: ““Ed Sheeran & Bring me the Horizon is a mix I did not know I needed,” one Twitter user wrote after the performance ended.”
