Star Trek actor and left-wing activist GeorgeTakei joined TheView to discuss the future of abortion in America and laws in states like Florida limiting discussion of sexual orientation and gender with young children.
The veteran actor slammed the possible overturn of Roe v Wade as “mean-spirited and dangerous," adding that “it’s not the Republican way.”
If Roe is overturned, the issue of abortion will return to the states. There would not be a federal ban on abortion unless one were to be enacted after being passed in Congress and signed by the president. Some Republicans have admitted they are considering a federal policy banning or restricting abortion.
