Former Secretary of State HillaryClinton received an honorary doctor of laws degree Wednesday from Columbia University during its 2022 commencement ceremony.
In brief remarks after being awarded the degree, Clinton told students to put their educations to use as citizens who believe"that everyone is entitled to the same kind of education, that there is work to be done to ensure justice, equality, freedom, and yes, to preserve and protect democracy.”

She was then awarded the degree for her"intellect, your grit, and your lifetime commitment to serving for the public good."Meanwhile, the trial for former Clinton presidential campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann began Monday, and he is charged with lying to the FBI when he spread since-debunked claims of Russian collusion between then-candidate Donald Trump and Russia in 2016. Special counsel John Durham brought the charges against Sussmann after a lengthy investigation.
