A New Jersey teacher saved one of her third grade students from choking by giving him the Heimlich maneuver during class last week.

One student came up to JaNeice Jenkins and indicated to her he was choking. Jenkins's quick thinking was captured on a classroom camera set up by the East Orange Community Charter School. The video was later posted to YouTube. The student had accidentally gulped down a water bottle cap while drinking from his bottle.

Luckily, Jenkins acted quick enough to get the cap out of his throat while he was still conscious.14-year teaching veteran Jenkins has been CPR-certified since she began teaching. After working at East Orange Community Charter School for five years, she'd reportedly just taken a refresher course in CPR.The school had a reported ratio of 9.44 students to 1 teacher as of last school year.
