Yet, for one moment last night, during the National League Championship Series Game between the Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres, divisive tribalism evaporated, and good old-fashioned American pride was on full display. During the 7th-inning stretch, as professional trumpet player Justin Nurin beautifully played"God Bless America," over 45,000 people in attendance sang the lyrics to the song.

In the City of Brotherly Love, where two of the greatest documents in the history of the world were written, where the beacon of hope known as American liberty was born, Philadelphia sports fans - yes, you read that correctly - led the country in American pride.
