The Yankees began a three-game series on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium against the Tigers with Jasson Dominguez playing center field in his fourth big-league game.
When his name was called, Dominguez removed his glove, made a triangle with his two index fingers, then held up his right index finger and wiggled it to the creatures out in right field with a smile on his face.
Dominguez, 20, was born in 2003, 29 years after sci-fi classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial hit the big screen in 1982.Last weekend in Houston, Dominguez debuted with a pair of two-run homers in the Yankees’ three-game sweep of the Astros, the first coming in the first inning of his first game off future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander.
