According to 6ABC, a water main break flooded part of the Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia early Thursday morning.

The burst occurred around 3:15 a.m. Thursday at Goodnaw Street, near the Santander Bank and Applebee’s where Philadelphia Water Department crews responded and shut down the 16-inch water main. As a result, all lanes of the Boulevard were shut down in both directions between Grant Avenue and Welsh Road for close to three hours., water department crews were able to turn off the main around 6 a.m., revealing a gaping hole in the median after the water receded. The inner northbound and southbound lanes of the Roosevelt Boulevard will remain closed between Grant Avenue and Welsh Road while work takes place.
