An attorney, Bhojani, 41, was elected to the Euless City Council in 2018. He impressed us with a command of major statewide issues. He has expressed a desire to find bipartisanship solutions to improve education funding, grow jobs, protect abortion and voting rights and expand Medicaid. On the City Council, he expanded civic engagement through an initiative to interest young residents to become involved in their city. Bhojani demonstrated grace and a professional temperament when then-state Rep.
Tracy Scott, 55, operates a consultancy that focuses on building community and business ties for people of color, has been active in Tarrant County politics and has served on a board to advance diversity and inclusion. A single mother, she said the district’s challenges “represent my life story.” She’s running on increasing financial stability of families and educational opportunities and favors expanding Medicaid and addressing mental health and substance abuse.
