Denverites traveling out of town for the weekend should keep a few potential hazards, including traffic and a flash flood watch, in mind.

West of the Mile High City, a flash floodis taking place until 9 p.m., the National Weather Service reports. Glenwood Springs, Eagle, Vail, Breckenridge, Fairplay, Estes Park and more are all situated in areas that could potentially be affected.

The highest threat is for burn areas: Cameron Peak, East Troublesome, Williams Fork, Calwood and Mullen. The timing of the flash flood threat is considered “elevated” – falling just below the highest rank of “significant” – on Friday between 1 and 5 p.m., extending to 7 p.m. for some.
