Leslie Garcia, 46, of Rosenberg was found guilty last month of theft and misapplication of fiduciary duty in connection to her alleged theft over the course of 22 months of $288,846.92 from a Sugar Land company, per a release from the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office.A woman who was accused of stealing more than $288,000 from a Sugar Land company she worked for has been sentenced to 65 years in prison, according to the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office.

It’s not the first time she’s been accused of stealing from an employer. According to the district attorney’s office, Garcia — who went by Leslie Garcia Mendez — received an eight-year prison sentence in 2008 after she allegedly stole from a Rosenberg company. “Garcia was discharged from parole just 47 days before she began stealing from the victim in the Sugar Land case,” the release read. “The business owners testified that they did not know about Ms. Garcia’s prior conviction.”
