With Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day on Sunday, April 24, Dr. Shushan Karapetian and other USC researchers want Armenians to share their story. So they've taken to the streets in a renovated food truck to record individuals' testimonies.
Armina Gharpetian gave her interview on a warm morning in Glendale where she serves on the school board.
As a result, millions fled Europe, forming the thriving Armenian communities around the world today; like one in Southern California."If you can have a cautionary tale by the Armenian experience, by all means, let that serve whatever purpose it is," said Karapetian. "By learning what brought Armenians here, we're also learning what keeps bringing people to the United States," he said.
