What's on your mind with this upcoming wet, windy weather? We want to hear from you as part of our latest reader survey.
Following a record-setting start to the year, wet, windy weather is seemingly here to stay in the San Francisco Bay Area for much of January.
As San Francisco flipped the calendar into 2023, it experienced more rain than any point since the era of Reconstruction. The City limited supply of sandbags to five per household amid high regional demand for most of the first week of the year, with the rainfall prompting warnings across the Bay Area of flooding and mudslides.
San Francisco looks well on track to match, if not exceed, that total. Multiple atmospheric rivers are expected, with federal forecasters projecting that hazardous conditions will continue through Jan. 19.
