Current STVM head coach Dru Joyce II, who was an assistant for the first two years of James’ high school career before becoming the head coach, was portrayed by actor Wood Harris in the movie.
AKRON, Ohio — The success of LeBron James and his teammates at St. Vincent-St. Mary inspired a new movie on Peacock called “Shooting Stars.”
In an interview with TMZ, Joyce gave Harris a stamp of approval for his portrayal in the film. The movie also stars Dylan Mulroney as Keith Dambrot, who was the head coach for James’ first two seasons at STVM, and Caleb McLaughlin from “Stranger Things” as Lil Dru. Marquis Mookie Cook portrays James in the movie.
