One of the few places for Hough residents to receive medical care remains closed, a year and a half after a fire damaged the building -- and it is unclear when that could change.

But even that funding is up in the air, as Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb has yet to distribute the money to the troubled nonprofit. While Cleveland City Council approved spending $2 million, it’s up to Bibb to decide whether that money is actually spent. For council’s part, two of the members who pushed hardest for the funding, Basheer Jones and Kevin Kelley, are no longer on council.Cleveland officials have no information to provide on when the Hough Health Center will reopen.
