What if the Oscars' red carpet wasn't red? On Sunday,celebrity looks faded into a champagne rug
For the first time since 1961, the awards show's red carpet was not red, but a champagne color.
Ironically, one of the night's biggest trends was gowns in ethereal white, off-white and champagne colors, and all seemed to fade into the champagne-carpet background.Academy Awards organizers said they wanted the red carpet to be mellow this year. There was chatter on Twitter whether the champagne carpet would stay clean."The champagne carpet is starting to look more ... dirty martini?" tweeted TV host Ralphie Aversa.
