It's something we've been saying since the summer, and honestly, since last winter when it comes to Washington Football:It just so happens that you have to have a "championship" or "Heisman" moment for everyone else to catch onto those sorts of things.The Dawgs rallied in the 4th quarter to beat Oregon 36-33 and in the process remain undefeated and vault to #5 in the nation in this week's Associated Press Top 25.
There are many teams in college and pro sports that when they missed an opportunity to win a game late, that'd be the end of it.Sure they missed a 4th down opportunity in the final minutes of Saturday's game with a chance to win while trailing 33-29. But the defense stepped up and made the stop it needed to. That, in turn, provided the extra opportunity needed.They only needed a couple plays to punch it in for the game-winning touchdown. Think about a team that was 4-8 in 2021, 11-2 in 2022 and now...well, we'll have to wait and see. But this is a special team that will make the most of things when it counts the most.
