The 49ers harped on mistakes that put them in a hole against the Chiefs.
The 49ers couldn’t fully capitalize Sunday on the energy generated by their late-week trade for Christian McCaffrey, as they were blown out in the second half by the Chiefs in aA Jimmy Garoppolo interception at the goal line just before halftime hurt the 49ers’ chances, and the defense simply couldn’t stop Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense in the second half.
On what Garoppolo should have done rather than throwing the interception, taking a sack or throwing away:On comparing this year to last year: Not having a winning record at this time and things like that, you can look to last year and know what we gotta do to fix that, but I feel that’s the only comparison.I think our guys are real good with that stuff. I mean, we always have hard Mondays and we don’t really shy away from anything around here.He keeps getting better each year. I think it was documented the work he put in this offseason and I think it’s carried over to the season.
Yeah, it felt good. Obviously it’s a lot, getting here Friday, but just tried to do the best I could to learn the most I can in two days. It’s just a new playbook.
