Were you expecting to find a big dump of snow outside of your house and thought that was the end of Winter Storm Landon? Think again.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Were you expecting to find a big dump of snow outside of your house and thought that was the end of Winter Storm Landon?Meteorologists at the National Weather Service say the worse of it is not here yet, and strongly advise Northeast Ohio residents to be prepared for what’s to come.

Keith Jaszka, a meteorologist at NWS, says the snow accumulation for today will likely be in the 4 to 8-inch range for Northeast Ohio.“We emphasized that we would have the heaviest snow today for this storm system,” Jaszka said. “People should not let their guard down if you do have to travel today. Give yourself extra time and leave plenty of space between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you.

NWS predicts additional periods of light snow after 4 p.m. and through Thursday night. This snow will amount to another inch or two. “Also this afternoon and evening there will be more wind,” he said. “We are expecting wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour. This will result in some blowing and drifting snow.”The high for today will be 28 degrees and the low will be 14 degrees, according to NWS.
