Today it’s more critical to have solid information with which to manage our daily lives – from where we live to where we work, to how we get where we need to go, and how we manage our healthcare.
And, yes, it’s vital to having the objective information we need to vote, especially this presidential election year.
Yet, the cacophony of so many choices and their attacks on each other as “alternative facts” , makes it super hard to know what to rely on as a news consumer, business leader and professional. For answers, I spoke with a 30-year news leadership veteran, who has led teams in both national and local news to find out from someone who could be unfiltered, without fear of losing ratings, subscribers or even her job. Wanda Smalls Lloyd was a senior editor at USA Today, and an editor at The Washington Post, and of local daily newspapers in Montgomery , Atlanta, Providence and Miami – including being the first African American to serve in the roles.
