The wife of a man who died after he was hit by a car she was driving at their Hillsborough, New Jersey, home was arrested this week and charged with death by auto, authorities announced Friday.
Robert O’Keefe, 41, was struck by a car driven by 37-year-old Amanda O’Keefe shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 25, according to a joint statement from theand the Hillsborough Police Department. Robert O’Keefe was pronounced dead at the scene. Amanda O’Keefe was allegedly over the legal blood alcohol concentration limit at the time of the incident and on Wednesday she was charged and surrendered herself to authorities at the office and was arrested, the agencies said.
She was lodged in the Somerset County Jail and released on Thursday with unspecified conditions pending a future court appearance, the office said.
